Abstract
-
Mackenzie Burton is a Brampton born UTM alumni breaking into the Theatre creation scene of the GTA. After graduation from the university’s theatre and drama specialist program, Mackenzie has found work acting and directing in the region of peel, and he brings his experience as a proud out gay man to his work, promoting representation, and the breaking of binary’s in theatre. Through discussions of what Mackenzie hopes to see in the future of this campus’ queer safe spaces, and some tricky navigations of how the performance of gender ties into actor training, this interview provides insight into the future of queer inclusion and initiatives.
