Interview with Ilde de Berardinis.

Coast opened three years ago in 2018 and is owned by Eduardo and Ide De Berardinis. Eduardo has experience in the restaurant business since a young age as his father owned several restaurants across Toronto. Their menu changes by season as some fish are not readily available all year around, and the owners do not want to strain the fish population during this reproduction period. Yet this does not put a burden on their business as they believe it keeps their customers entertained. Since the business works with products that are alive, like clams, they get these ingredients fresh daily. The dishes reflect the owners’ regional ties to Abruzzi. Some of their most famous dishes include the carbonara, spaghetti vongole, and the Coast Chowder. The owners promoted the restaurant by using social media, a grand opening, and invitations. The COVID-19 pandemic has made seafood harder to get, thus the establishment has been forced to change what they offer. They also introduced family meal packages for families to make the food at home. In the future the owners would like to expand across Ontario and even maybe Canada as a whole. There are also plans to open a fast food busines that offers healthy quick meals.
