Situated at 1375 King St E in Hamilton, Ontario, Cafe Baffico attracts a lively and diverse clientele, selling mouthwatering bakery items, like their Croissintamon™ buns and their creme brulee donuts. We had a delightful interview with the founder, Jordan Weisz, learning so much about Cafe Baffico’s history. The cafe was founded in 2018 by Weisz, who has previously worked as a chef and also in the coffee industry. Jordan decided to found the business after being inspired by several trips to Italy and noticing that Italian-Canadian cuisine differed greatly from the food found in Italy. He thus aimed to embody a similar type of hospitality and friendly ambiance within the business. Originally serving Italian staples such as carbonara, caponata and roman pizza, Cafe Baffico has transitioned from a restaurant to a bakery/cafe during the Covid-19 pandemic. They now sell a delicious assortment of breads, pastries and donuts.
